Malaysia Crime Prevention Foundation ( MCPF, Reg. No : PPM-002-14-11011993) was established on January 11th 1993 , as Non Government/Non Profit Organization. It is a chapter of the Asia Crime Prevention Foundation (ACPF), which is based in Tokyo,Japan and declared as the first chapter to be established outside Japan. The objectives of MCPF are to promote awareness in crime prevention and rehabilitation of offenders at all times. In addition to getting public participation in crime prevention efforts of the Government and other interested parties and NGO's.MCPF contribute to the enhancement of effective measures for crime prevention and treatment (rehabilitation) of offenders. The ultimate goal is peace, stability and manageable crime level in our country.

The launching of the Foundation was officiated by the former Prime Minister of Malaysia , YABhg Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamed, who was the first patron of MCPF then. In conjunction with the launching of the Foundation, the Royal Malaysia Police (RMP) and UNAFEI jointly organised the Seminar on "Effective Counter Measures Against Organised Crime" held between 18 and 21 January 1993. About 200 participants took part.

The first Chairman of MCPF was the Minister of Law, The Honourable Dato' Seri Syed Hamid Albar and the Deputy Chairman was the then Inspector-General of Police, the Honourable Tun Hanif Omar.The present patron is the Prime Minister of Malaysia, YAB Datuk Seri Anwar bin Ibrahim. Our Chairman is YB Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution bin Ismail. The Deputy Chairman is YDH IG Tan Sri Razarudin bin Husain, Inspector General of Police, Royal Malaysian Police.
